Mother's Day

How do I take care of my flowers once they are delivered?

As your mother is basking in the glory of her new beautiful florals, she will want to preserve that beauty for as long as possible. We have included a few fresh flower care tips to help. Feel free to send her this easy-to-follow guide once her flowers have been delivered.

First things first
If your flowers came in plastic wrapping, you would want to remove the plastic as soon as possible. This will allow the flowers to breathe. Secondly, you will want to give fresh water to your flowers to provide hydration. Place bouquets in a vase of appropriate size or fill your current vase with fresh water. If you need to, you can trim the stem’s ends to fit a vase you have. We recommend cutting flower stems at an angle with a sharp knife.

Where you place your flowers can make a difference
Avoid placing your flower arrangements near areas of extreme temperatures: windowsills, direct sunlight all day, or an overly hot room. Too much heat or sun exposure can cause your flowers to dry out quickly or wilt. Cooler and more controlled conditions will be best to help preserve the beauty of your flowers.

Avoid placing your flowers next to fruit or in the vicinity of cigarette smoke. These can produce ethylene gas which can reduce the life of your flowers and cause them to die more quickly.

Maintaining a beautiful presentation
Keep your flowers looking fresh and displayed beautifully by tending to your flowers periodically.

  • For vase arrangements, keep your vase filled with water. This allows the plants to drink the water they need and provides them hydration.
  • For basket arrangements, we suggest still adding daily fresh water to your flowers.
  • Anytime the water begins to become cloudy, change the water out with fresh water. It would be good to clean the inside of your vase during this change before placing your flowers back into the vase. Using soapy water can help remove bacteria that could cause your flowers to deteriorate more quickly. Then make sure you rinse your vase thoroughly.
  • As wilting leaves or stems occur, remove the strongly wilted contents to allow the fresher parts to be the center of attention.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut your stems at an angle one to two inches from the bottom of the stem. This will help your flowers better absorb water. We recommend avoiding using scissors to cut your flowers. Scissors can crush the stems and hinder the flower from being able to absorb the water.

Thanksgiving (USA)

How do I take care of my flowers once they are delivered?

Now that you have your lovely flowers for the holiday season, you would like to preserve their beauty for as long as possible. We have provided some fresh flower care tips to help. If you are giving flowers to friends or family, feel free to share this page with them so that they will be able to care for their flowers soon after their delivery.

First things first
Most flowers are delivered with a plastic covering. Remove all plastic to all your flowers to breathe. Next, if your flowers are already in a vase or you have just placed them in a vase, refill the vase with fresh water. Your flowers will love the hydration.

Where you place your flowers can make a difference
It is best to avoid placing your flower in areas of extreme temperatures: windowsills, direct sunlight all day, or an overly hot room. These can cause wilting or dry out your flowers. Instead, place your flowers somewhere where they will be in cooler and more controlled conditions.

It is always good to prevent the possibility of ethylene gas reducing the life of your flowers. This can often come from placing flowers near fruit or cigarette smoke.

Maintaining your flower’s beautiful presentation
As your beautiful flowers are on display, check up on them and tend to them periodically over a series of days.

  • For vase arrangements, keep your vase filled with fresh water to provide them with proper hydration.
  • For basket arrangements, it is good to also provide them with hydration. We suggest daily fresh water hydration.
  • Anytime the water begins to become cloudy, change out the water. You will need to clean your vase with soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and then fill your vase back up with fresh water. Using soapy water rather than only rinsing can help remove bacteria that could cause your flowers to die more quickly.
  • Remove any strongly wilted contents: wilting leaves or stems. This will help you maintain a fresher and neater look.
  • Cut your stems at an angle using a sharp knife. We recommend cutting them one to two inches from the bottom of the stem. This will allow your flowers to hydrate and absorb the water properly. Using scissors to cut the stems is not recommended, as scissors can crush the stems and hinder the flower’s ability to drink water.

Christmas

Where is In Bloom located?

In Bloom is located in Hinton, OK.

I have a few questions, how can I contact In Bloom?

Have questions regarding the details of an order, delivery, or other needs, please feel free to contact In Bloom at (405) 542-6578. We would be happy to assist you.

Schedule delivery now so you don't have to worry later.

We recommend placing your order as soon as possible. The sooner the better. By placing your order early and scheduling your future delivery in advance, you secure your selection. This will prevent any flower substitutions that you could experience if you placed your order in the thick of a high order volume time and limited supply.

The later your order is placed, the riskier your chances are to receive the exact florals you desire. During an order dense period of time, such as Christmas, specific flower supplies run low or go out of stock and the shop relies upon a new shipment to come in. This often results in flower substitutions when filling an order with a pressing time frame, due to a late order.

Provide yourself with assurance and peace of mind by placing your order earlier rather than later.

Valentine's Day

How do I take care of my flowers once they are delivered?

Now that you have your stunning flowers, you would like to preserve their beautiful state for as long as possible. Below we have provided some fresh flower care tips to help guide you.

First things first
If your flowers came in plastic, you will need to remove the plastic wrapping as soon as possible. This allows for your flowers to breathe. Then provide fresh water for your flowers as soon as possible.

Where you place your flowers can make a difference
Avoid placing your flower arrangements near areas of extreme temperatures. This could include windowsills, direct sunlight all day, or an overly hot room. These factors can cause your flowers to dry out quickly or wilt. Most flowers last longer under cooler and controlled conditions. Avoid placing your flowers next to fruit or cigarette smoke. Ethylene gas can reduce the life of your flowers and be detrimental to their lifespan.

Maintaining a beautiful presentation
Keep your flowers looking fresh and displayed beautifully by tending to your flowers periodically.

  • Keep vase arrangements filled with fresh water. This allows the plants to drink up the water they need for proper hydration.
  • For basket arrangements, we suggest providing your flowers with daily fresh water.
  • Remember to switch out any cloudy water. You will want to fully clean the inside of your vase with soap and water, thoroughly rinse, and then refill the vase with new water. This will help remove any bacteria that could possibly harm your flowers and cause them to deteriorate more quickly.
  • As you notice leaves or stems wilting, remove the strongly wilted contents. This will help your flowers maintain a fresh and appealing appearance.
  • To help your flowers to maintain proper hydration, use a sharp knife to cut your stems. Cut the stems at an angle one to two inches from the bottom. This will help the flowers to absorb water. It is discouraged to use scissors to cut the flower stems. Scissors can crush the stems, preventing proper water absorption.
